• Dates Tweaked!
• Artists Announced!
• Prices Dropped!
Due to some scheduling conflicts
with my own schedule, the artists schedule and the busy shooting
season in general, we have had to tweak and condense the workshop
dates. First rule of photography is schedules change, right?
The good news is, this will significantly drop the price of all
3 workshops. For those who have already paid, we will be giving
you a special extra offer or issuing you a refund for the difference
in price if you'd rather have that. Your choice.

V I S I O N Workshop II (Light)
April 9th-10th
On Matt's shoot, we're going to explore the Lifestyle look...
both through using light and pulling it out of your subject.
natural light, working with what you have and even faking
natural light with strobes, reflectors, etc. I'll also talk
a lot about getting the sunny, warm vibe on darker days where
the weather isn't cooperating.

 |
V I S I O N Workshop III (Mood)
April 13th-14th
We'll be toning it way down with The Civil Wars. Come on
set with me and my full crew to an old, historic mansion as
we explore the dark, cinematic look and how to tell a story.
I'll be pulling out all the stops in terms of lighting and
showing you how to explore new, interesting ways of using
your tools. |

Please note that this is photography and artists
may change. Artists availability schedules change all the time so there
is a remote chance that they may move their shoot dates. However these are
working shoot dates and a change in artist will not cancel the workshop.
If artist cancels or changes dates we will still conduct the workshop but
with another artist shoot.

I know there are a lot of Workshops being offered
these days by a lot of amazing photographers. There are workshops
on Lighting, Post-Production, Business, Branding, F-Stops and Shutter
Speeds, Shooting with your on-camera flash, etc., etc., etc.
But there's one thing hovering above all of these
that reigns as King in my book: Vision.
What good is Lighting without Vision? What good is Technical Know-How
without Vision? What good is photoshop without Vision? What good
are business skills without Vision? You get my point.
Vision is key before anything else.
I don't consider myself a master of vision. I consider
myself a chaser of vision. I love thinking about it. I love hearing
others talk about it.
I love seeing the results of it. I love finding it.
We must foster a mindset in one another that perpetuates
creative vision. What you can't just go get or borrow vision from
a friend. And they can't have yours. That's the beautiful thing
about it. Your ideas and your vision are uniquely yours and it will
always be that way.
So what is that vision of yours?
My biggest interest is seeing you become you. I
have no interest in teaching you how to become me or anyone else
for that matter. I want to see you try new things, new approaches,
or even make a mark on this industry that no one has made yet. The
ideas are out there. You think it's all been done before but it
hasn't. I see that theory proven wrong on a daily basis. We're going
to explore these questions and ideas. My goal is to send you away
with fresh vision.
It's time to shoot better... to see better... to
think better... to BE better.

Now for some details. We're raising the
bar this time. Several levels.
The biggest question I've been asked since becoming
a photographer is "Can I come watch you shoot?".
The answer is finally yes. I'm excited to announce that the 2nd
day of each Workshop, I'm going to be doing a major commercial photoshoot
with some of my favorite musicians that I've hand-picked. Each artist
is very different therefore I will approach each shoot in very different
ways. We will be tackling concepts for their new albums and projects
and you'll be along for the ride. We'll pack you all on a bus and
take you out on location. You'll see the hair/makeup, you'll see
assistants work, you'll see the production techniques of all the
lights I use, how I use them, why I use them. See below for the
Artist Announcements!

So what will the first day look like? We will cover
the Following:
• My Story and My work and how Vision
relates to both
• Lighting - What kind of lighting I use, how I determine
lighting based on Vision and how I use that Lighting to execute
ideas
• Seperating Yourself from the Crowd by way of Vision
• Branding, Business and Social Media
• Personal Projects and how those relate to your Brand
and Vision
• Having a good Team - The importance of Assistants,
Hair and Makeup, Styling, and Prop Styling in achieving your Vision
• Staying Inspired
• Brand/Website/Photo Critique
PLEASE NOTE: This is not a shooting workshop.
No cameras necessary unless you just want to bring it for the heck
of it. The first day will be educational and the 2nd day will be
educational AND observatory. We will be doing a full-scale commercial
shoot on the 2nd day and out of respect for the artist and the sanity/production
of the shoot, no attendee shooting will be necessary.

Royce Degrie
Jeremy Cowart is not simply a photographer but, rather, a man of
incredible vision who uses a tool called a camera to capture that
vision. I appreciate that more now than I did before the workshop.
Seeing how he thinks, works, shoots, and then seeing the images
from that shoot was amazing. The workshop helped me change the way
I think about the work I do and to learn to “see” things
differently. Jeremy was transparent, honest, and challenged each
of us to think about what we needed to do to take it to the next
level. Very inspiring weekend and I can’t wait to start shooting
with a different perspective to see what I can create out of what
I learned this weekend. It was amazing to be around 23 other photographers
(Jeremy, Michael, and Ben + the 20 attendees) in the industry and
to work in a creative workshop environment. I was like a human sponge
trying to take in every moment. I was sad that it was over, because
I loved every minute of it. Thanks, Jeremy, for inspiring us to
grow. If you are reading this and even thinking about signing up
for one of his workshops… stop thinking and do it. You will
not be disappointed.
Amanda (Indie Jane Photography)
The workshop this weekend was absolutely incredible. Jeremy Cowart
has been a huge influence on my own career for the last 2 and a
half years, and just being around him and hearing him talk about
photography was super inspiring. I walked away from this weekend
with a lot of new information, but above all I was reminded of why
I started doing this in the first place...for the art. I don't ever
want this to feel like a "job", I just want to create
things that make me happy. I've been way too caught up in the technical
and business aspects of it, and while those things are important,
it's not why I'm here in the first place.
Shane Melenbacker
If I were to sum up Jeremy Cowart’s workshop in one word it
would “inspirational.” Unlike other workshops I have
attended that focus on f stops, shutter speeds, ISO and business
(not that any of that is bad), Jeremy’s workshop tests your
creative eye and your ability see things in a different way. Aside
from the creativity, the most informational part of the workshop
was Jeremy’s open and honest critique or our work. With his
attention to detail he viewed our work and in an encouraging way,
picked it apart. If you want a workshop that will leave you excited
to push your creative boundaries, you’ll find it here!
Lindsay Brittain
"Jeremy's workshop was encouraging and inspiring. Regardless
of what part of the photography industry you are in or what level
you're at, you will come away with something from this experience
that you can use to push yourself further as an artist. I walked
away creatively refreshed with a deeper respect for him as an artist
and a person!"
John Harder
"There was so much that I learned in just a short 36 hours
that I would never know how to begin to share. If by the insane
chance Jeremy Cowart actually reads this I just want to say thank
you. Thank you for this opportunity. Thank you for this gift. This
has been a definite benchmark in my life and I will forever remember
this weekend. You are an incredible talent and an inspiration to
SO many photographers. Please! Keep the inspiration coming!"
Tabitha Hawk
“Jeremy Cowart Photography Workshop is a must for those serious
in growing within the art. Not only technically but creative and
ethics-wise too. A wealth of applicable knowledge as well as hands-on
experience, allowing you to see and be involved in all aspects of
the photographic process from a professional stand point.“
